I've noticed him for the first time on Aeroscale with his simply fantastic Eduard's 1/48 Nieupoet 16. He built a very naturally looking Ni-16. His name was Wojtek Fojga.
Next time I was browsing Aeroscale.co.uk for the references on Eduard's 1/48 scale Fokker Dr.1 and found Stephen T. Lawson reference on Eduard's latest 1/48 fokker dual kombo kit. I Googled little bit deeper and found Wojtek's original forum build thread on Dr.1. Check this out here:
I've surfed that forum little bit more and found another astonishing 1/48 Lloyd C.V s.46 build forum thread by Wojtek. Here you go:

Poll closed - favorite scale of 2008
Well, the poll on the favorite scale is closed. I'm glad to announce the winner - 1/48 is the most popular scale amongst the visitors of this blog (113 votes - 52% of 100% of all votes). The second popular scale is..... 1/72! That's a suprise! At least for me - I thought 1/32 would win the first or at least the second position.
Anyway, 1/72 scale got (55 votes or 25% of all votes). Third place got 32's scale with 27 votes.
I've also noticed that armour scale colleagues also like to visit my blog - 8 visitors (or 3% of all votes) voted for 1/35 as they favorite scale. 5 votes for 1/16 scale, 4 voted for 1/144 scale and 3 visitors like 1/1 sclae models :)
Thanx for voting anyone!
Feel free to post your ideas on the next poll in this post comments.

Some gorgeous WW2 pics
Found today on Hyperscale's forum - USAF during WW2 in Pacific. I guess it's Devastator, right?
other pics can be found here.
This photos shows the real condition of the worn out paint - really helpful for understanding of weathering.

Focke Wolf FW-190A-8 Sturmbock in progress
It's time to update my Tamiya's 1/48 FW-190A-8 in-progress blog. As you can see Sturmbock is almost ready - it lacks only canopy... Actually the build stopped because of canopy which is ruined - it has a crack that quite visible and I really can't do anything about..

Found great source of airbrush supplies
Some time ago I've started to search for place to buy good yet cheap airbrush. I feel like I need to replace my old trusted Aztek and get stronger airbrush made of steel.
I know Brett Green and Chris Wauchop do best results with Aztek airbrush, but after some 4-5 years of hard work my Aztek needs replacement. I also noticed that nozzles (made from plastic) become worn out as I clean them everytime after painting.
I knew that ordinary airbrushes and they supplies cost much more than Testors airbrushes. I noticed that best airbrushes like Badger or Paashe will cost me no less than $100. But I need some airbrush that is cheaper than $100 yet strong + with warranty + could airbrush thin lines.
So I asked colleagues on Aeroscale.co.uk forum and got good advice with the link - Master Airbrush items on AirbrushDepot. Check them out here.

Sad news...
Well this sad news comes out late. In the beginning of October died Alexey Kirillov - founder of the world famous Russian company "Moskit". "Moskit" is famous with their unique exhaust pipes. None of the modern aftermarket companies makes that realistic exhaust pipes still.

Hellcat Mk.I by Brett Green
I've always been a fan of Brett Green finishing techniques applied on his aircraft models - subtle yet realistic finishes. This time it's not exception - Eduard's 1/48 Hellcat Mk.I
Jun Temma building Tamiya's 1/48 Zero
Jun Temma goes on building great professionally built models. This time it's new Tamiya's 1/48 Zero.
Unfortunatelly I don't speak and read Japanese, but in-progress pics say enough. Very inspiring!!
Now where's are my tools and unbuilt Sturmbock ;)

News From Eduard This August
Apart from brand new 1/48 Fokker Dr.I, Eduards has other brand new kits this month:
1/48 scale Fw-190 F-8/R-2
1/48 scale Sopwith Camel Weekend Edition
Interesting is also noticing how Eduard is getting more and more competitive in modeling world by designing and selling more and more interesting WW1 and WW2 fighter subjects. Eduard plans to release 1/48 scale SPAD XIII late version (WW1 French fighter) and 1/48 scale Lysander Mk.III in Finnish service. Very interesting subjects!

New 1/48 Scale Fokker Dr.I DUAL COMBO
My favorite hobby shop Modelimex.com already sells new Eduard's 1/48 Fokker Dr. I dual combo kit. This is the one I always wanted to build. Is it possible to build Red Baron "dreidecker" from this kit?
Brand New Tamiya's 1/48 Mitsubishi A6M5/5a Zero Review
Brett Green from Hyperscale.com review Tamiya's new Mitsubishi A6M5/5a Zero. Looks like a good investment (even knowing that I'm not a fan of ww2 Japanese a/c) - awesome engineering and, as it seems from the pics, perfect detail.

Eduard Releases in August'08
We've another 1/48 scale Focke-Wolf 190 from Eduard this august. This time it's FW-190F-8 - late war bird.
And the model I wait for most of all is Eduard's 1/48 scale Fokker Dr. 1 triplane! It seems Eduard got their marketing policy in a very aggressive way: first of all they release Royal kit, then they release dual combo kit and then they release kit's weekend edition. Very smart way to increase their sales, don't you think?
Anyway, here's the kit I waited for so long - I'll have a very nice birthday present to myself in August! Here're the color profiles:

Sturmbock in-progress
Little update of my Sturmbock in progress. I just have finished airbrushing mottling on the fuselage.. Which, frankly speaking, was pain in the... eyes. ;) The thing is that I tried airbrushing mottling yesterday and I thought the mottling is alright and I would go on decaling the model. But today I've changed my mind and totally was dissapointed with how the mottling looked on the model. Photos of the subject were totally different. That's why I have repainted the mottling today and I must admit I'm quite happy with the result. Well, it seems I tend to be happy at the evenings ;)
Anyway, here're the results (feel free to post your angry comments and critisize the mottling and the model :)
